People from Seville were also asked the following questions, results were recorded into the following charts:
General Overview:
An overall relationship between age and opinion on GMOs was observed. On the one hand, people over 50 were generally against food modification despite its benefits.
On the other hand, it was seen that younger people generally supported the idea of science modifying genes in order to deal with big issues such as world hunger or scarcing of resources.
All in all, interviewees were found to expose different mindsets; being age and culture the main factors that influenced their opinions.

Wow, those data actually surprised me, i thought GMO were much of a known thing in our society, I guess with your work people will start to know them better, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThis is great man! Good job María José Vázquez Bernández! You can clearly see how much effort was put into the blog, good information and good charts/graphs which complements the information. I also like the how you arranged the information. Good overview with clear conclusions. However I feel like the design of the blog is a bit vague in the sense that it's not completely visible, I would definitely appreciate more visibility. It's also good to know that a good amount of people knew about GMOs.
ReplyDeleteThis is very interesting! I think that the fact that younger people are more in favour with this kind of new scientific techniques is a very important key to understand today's society and to foresee the future. It shows the intentions of new generations to use genetics and science to change how the world actually works. Congratulations!
